Woman found murdered in her house
A 31-year-old woman, an employee at a government office here, was found strangled to death in her house, police said Saturday.
Police said the incident took place Friday night when Lalita and her five-year-old son were at their home in Mandir Marg area.
We believe the murderer was known to her, said Manish Agarwal, additional deputy commissioner of police. He said the victims husband Yashpal Singh was at his office in Gurgaon on a late night duty.
Though some of Yashpals friends have given statements that he was in the office we are yet to verify them, said Agarwal, adding, Yashpal is also under the scanner.
Police said when Lalitas nephew came to see her on Saturday morning, he found her lying in the front room and her son sleeping.
She was a grade four employee in the audit and accounts department of Delhi.
The body has been sent for post mortem.
