MDLR Airlines looks beyond metros

MDLR Airlines, the aviation arm of Gurgaon-based real estate and hospitality group MDLR, has chalked out ambitious plans to map a pan-India footprint connecting metropolitan cities with with Tier II towns through low capacity regional jets.

The airline would connect Ranchi and Kolkata with Chandigarh six times a week, initially, and would be offering full-service, twin class configuration and special fares. At this point Ranchi and Kolkata are not connected by too many full-service airlines and the line is mostly serviced by low-cost carriers, Gopal Goyal, MDLRs chairman, told Hindustan Times.

The airline, which has already started commercial operations between Chandigarh and Delhi, plans to extend its operations to Mumbai, Surat, Jaipur, Bhavnagar and Goa and few other northern cities in the coming months.

MUL all set to launch SX4 sedan

Maruti Udyog Ltd., (MUL) is set to launch the SX4 Sedan in the first half of this month, ahead of its commercial launch in Europe.

Suzuki Motors holds majority stake in MUL. Sources said the Sedan was most likely to be launched in India in the second week of this month. Its commercial launch in Europe would be in autumn this year.

In Japan, the launch would happen later this year, these sources added. SX4 Sedan would be Suzukis second world car to be launched in India after Swift.
