MCD plans eight lanes for M-G Road
The Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road which until last year was better known as a fashion hub is set for a facelift with the MCD planning to widen the 12 km stretch that connects the Capital to Gurgaon.
The road, which is notorious for its potholes and long traffic jams, will be converted into an eight-lane corridor stretching from Andheria More to the Delhi-Haryana border in the next couple of years. The project will cost Rs 173 crore.
The MCD has already submitted a design proposal to the Centre and is hoping to get part of the funds allotted under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM).
