In Gurgaon, ASI, doctor in VB net for taking bribe
The state Vigilance Bureau today caught an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) for taking bribe, busted a racket involved in issuing fake national permits to heavy vehicles, and held a medical officer for demanding bribe to issue certificate to a physically challenged person.
According to officials, ASI Ram Singh, posted at security branch of the Mini Secretariat, was caught on Friday afternoon when he reached complaint A K Guptas residence in Sector 31 here to collect the bribe amount. According to Guptas complaint, the ASI had asked for the money to clear his passport verification, and the Vigilance team was waiting in anticipation to fell the ASI in its net.
In another raid, VB arrested seven members of a gang that had issued at least 35 fake national permits to heavy vehicles for shipping goods across state borders. The team recovered Rs 80,000 from them, officials said. The fake permits were issued in the name of Sub Divisional Officer Civil-cum-Regional Transport Authority, officials said.
In the third raid, a medical officer and compounder were caught for demanding bribe from a physically challenged person in Taoru district, Mewat.
