Gurgaon Properties News : Metro’s NCR date is an official 2009
NEW DELHI: Call it the Metro faring well or public wel-fare. But the good news is that there will be no fare hikes even after Metro reaches new destinations like CP, Chawri Bazaar and Old and NEW DELHI railway stations in June.
It can now be said that the Metro will reach Gurgaon and Noida in 2009. This follows agreements with Uttar Pradesh and Haryana governments over funding models. Last weeks discussions between Delhi and Haryana governments have seen some headway over funding and land issues. Noida Authority has even agreed to allocate resources to bring the Metro to the satellite township.
In an exclusive interview to The Times Of India, DMRC MD E Sreedharan said: We will not hike the fares. When the fare fixation committee met last time, the fares were fixed for all lines and extensions opening till September 2005.
