Four Family Courts to come up in Haryana
Four Family Courts would be set up in Haryana at divisional headquarters of Ambala, Hisar, Rohtak and Gurgaon.
Stating this here today, an official spokesman said a decision to this effect has been taken after consultation with the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
A sum of Rs 20 lakh would be spent to set up these courts during the current financial year.
He said the family courts aimed at making serious attempts for reconciliation or settlement between the parties to a family dispute with the help of social welfare agencies and counselors.
The Family Court Act, 1984 was enacted to exclusively provide jurisdiction to Family Courts in matters of matrimonial relief including nullity of marriages, judicial separation, divorce, restitution of conjugal rights of declaration as to the validity of marriage or as to the matrimonial status of any person.
