Cuba Demands Release of Cuban Five in Indian Forum
Cuban ambassador to India Juan Carretero called on India´s 4th National Assembly of Non-Government Organizations to empower actions and solidarity in favor of the release of the five Cuban antiterrorist fighters held in US prisons.
During the meeting, which took place in Gurgaon City, in the state of Andra Pradesh, the Cuban diplomat referred to the ongoing world campaign waged by youth and student organizations to get the immediate release of Gerardo Hernández, Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, Fernando González and René González, who are known as The Cuban Five.
Carretero also highlighted the historic friendship relations between India and Cuba, and their participation in the Non-Aligned Movement, which Cuba currently chairs.
