CBI raids on properties of TB institute director
The Jaipur branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday raided properties in Jaipur, Karauli and Bangalore belonging to the director of the National Tuberculosis Institute, Bangalore, following complaints that the latter had amassed properties disproportionate to his known income.
The CBI seized documents from his native place in Karauli district and claimed to have unearthed immovable properties worth Rs 1 crore in Bangalore. Officers said he owns a 400 square yards plot in Malviya Nagar.
According to CBI spokesman Atul Gupta, a case of property disproportionate to income had been filed against Prahlad Kumar Meena. A CBI team searched his native place in Hindaun area of Karauli. The team seized documents pertaining to properties in Jaipur and Bangalore. It includes a 400 square yard plot in Malviya Nagar locality, said Gupta.
